Week, I will be moving into a home with mostly brick interiors. It was built in 1840: exposed brick walls, five brick fireplaces throughout, etc. the light throughout the house is acceptable but not fantastic.
My question is, how do I decorate the home in a way that does not make it feel like a dark dungeon? What colors should I emphasize? What other design considerations are important?
I want a masculine (but not in your face) feeling throughout, and want to avoid the “dark dungeon” feel.

Feng Shui is awesome to learn about. I remember hearing about it my first time and thinking that it was a pretty wild concept. When I had my first client who was big into Feng Shui, and I found it to be refreshing and cool. There are some very interesting thoughts.

The true test of feng shui is how your home makes you feel. Even if you completely disregard the rules – you’ll know you’re on the right track when your home makes you feel energized and peaceful at the same time.
I get the concept of Feng Shui but it doesn’t make much sense to have a television in a room where the furniture does not accommodate looking at it.
