Your home is a place where you relax and unwind at the end of the day. So decorate it in such a way that you feel comfortable and cozy.

Placing candles at specific places in the house will make it warmer and soothe the senses. Remember to light them in the evening! One more suggestion is to start using your fireplace again, that is inactive for the rest of the year. You can also place a fleece blanket on the sofa and create a warmhearted sitting arrangement.

These are some ideas from my side. I would like to hear some more from you too!

I have told you how a window can let in sunlight in the room earlier in our discussion. There is one more decorating idea that can light up your home.

When sunny days are here, remove all the heavy drapes and replace them with lighter fabrics and cool shades. Brown colored curtains can be substituted with Café curtains or pastel colored shears.

In case these curtains are not for your bedroom, privacy is not a preference. That is where you can try a feather-light valance or a silk scarf across the top of the window. It will let the sunshine in your home without the harmful UV rays.

Let the Sunlight In

Though we might spend quite some money on buying beautiful lights and chandeliers, nothing can match the brilliance of natural sunlight.

When you decorate your home, always remember to leave a window for letting the sunlight in. If this window faces a wall, you can hang a painting there so that it brightens up when the sun is shining.

Some people like the idea of having an inlet for sunlight in the middle of the house at a strategic point on the ceiling. This is a glass window that need not be open always. It is suitable in places where it is cold for most of the year.

Chandeliers play a vital part in home decoration. Choosing the right kind of chandelier can be time-consuming and confusing at the same time.

The first thing to keep in mind is the budget for your chandelier. Then you need to look for one that suits your interiors such as curtains, sofa covers and the flooring too. If you have a contemporary design, then a chandelier made of crystal and halogen lamps will suit best.

Lighting in the house is greatly enhanced by chandeliers. They look elegant and can very well serve as the focal point in your living room, isn’t it?
