The face of your kitchen is your countertop. It portrays how the rest of your kitchen is going to be. A messy countertop can mean that there is no place left to keep anything in the cabinets!

If you wish to give a designer look to your kitchen, molded kitchen drawers and the latest appliances are not enough. Reduce the number of items on your countertop and keep only those small appliances that you actually use everyday. All the others can be safely kept in the cupboards and brought out as need arises.

Dinner times are family times. That is when we all get together around the dining table and discuss about how the day passed.

But isn’t it sometimes irritating when you need to get up in the middle of your meal for taking some spoons for the soup? If your dining table would have drawers or a small shelf for storing these eating tools or spice shakers, wouldn’t it be great?

Whenever you buy or order a dining table as a part of your home decoration, ensure that it has at least some capacity for below-the-top storage. You will thank me for this!

I have many friends who love cooking just like me. This leads to being in the kitchen for quite some time. If we are short of space in the kitchen it can be cumbersome to work there.

To make my ‘workplace’ attractive, I had a ‘food’ theme in mind while decorating it. I brought fork and spoon designed handles for the cabinets, a wall clock made using a griddle and fridge magnets that looked like vegetables and fruits. I also brought this theme into the tiles for the kitchen.

It took me quite some effort to hunt for such decorating items, but it was worth it for sure!
