Doors connect one room to the other or lead you into the corridor of your house. Unlike bedrooms or living rooms, where you need thick fabric curtains for ensuring privacy, a door curtain can be experimented with a little.

Shear curtains that are transparent and flowing are a good option for doors. It makes the room look elegant and adds a pleasant touch to it. This way you create a relaxed atmosphere in the adjoining room too. You can also go for embroidered curtains or self-print fabrics for making your interior décor look élan.

If you love partying and enjoying with friends on weekends a home bar is something that must be a part of your house. Decide upon some theme for your bar and then go ahead with the rest. You need to take care of the seating while decorating your in-house bar.

Make sure that the bar stools that you place near the bar are comfortable enough. You can also include lounge chairs wrapped in bright colored fabrics or zebra print to make it glamorous. If you have some more space do add some extra seating arrangements in some other part of the room.

When you are someone who loves reading and don’t know where to keep all those books at home, it can really be a problem.

Have you tried multipurpose furniture while decorating your home? For instance, you can buy bookshelves or book cabinets with or without doors that can be used as a library or an entertainment center or even in your home office for storing important documents.

It is not that difficult to decorate a small space in your home in the living room or any other room as it seems. Once you know that you have to make the best of the available space, you can be your own home decorator.

Instead of the standard sofa set, buy a sofa cum bed. This serves as a comfortable sofa in the day and can be easily transformed into a double bed if you have some guests at night. It is a great space-saver and utilizes the living room space to the fullest. Moreover, you don’t feel guilty that your guests are actually sleeping on a sofa!

It totally depends on you how you treat the corners in your house- decorate them or leave them as boring as they are. I will guide you on how a corner can be made interesting.

You can place a natural or an artificial silk tree to fill up the corner. If you wish place a lamp that has indirect lighting in the corner for a fantastic effect. For effective use of the corner, hang a storage cabinet that can also serve as a display case. You can also buy corner tables and adorn it with family photo frames, a flower vase and a matching tablecloth to go with it!

I already told you how to make a tall ceiling seem to be lower. Today I will share with you how to make a normal height ceiling seem taller.

The color of the ceiling must be the lightest shade in the room. This helps to reflect light much better and you think you have a high ceiling. Even the walls adjacent to the ceiling should be painted in cream, beige, gray or any other cool pastels to give a receding effect.

Avoid lights and lamps to be installed directly on the ceilings as this causes it to look lower than usual.

Some people are blessed with a house that belonged to their forefathers. Chances are that your house has a high ceiling. Let us talk about a home decorating solution for this.

If you wish to make your ceiling appear lower, paint it in a dark, warm tint. You can also hang large, vertical paintings or artifacts to enhance the depth of the room. Thus you will not need to hide this tall ceiling and use it for decorating your home in a nice way. A beautiful chandelier can also be installed on the top to give your home a palatial look!

Your home is a place where you relax and unwind at the end of the day. So decorate it in such a way that you feel comfortable and cozy.

Placing candles at specific places in the house will make it warmer and soothe the senses. Remember to light them in the evening! One more suggestion is to start using your fireplace again, that is inactive for the rest of the year. You can also place a fleece blanket on the sofa and create a warmhearted sitting arrangement.

These are some ideas from my side. I would like to hear some more from you too!

I have told you how a window can let in sunlight in the room earlier in our discussion. There is one more decorating idea that can light up your home.

When sunny days are here, remove all the heavy drapes and replace them with lighter fabrics and cool shades. Brown colored curtains can be substituted with Café curtains or pastel colored shears.

In case these curtains are not for your bedroom, privacy is not a preference. That is where you can try a feather-light valance or a silk scarf across the top of the window. It will let the sunshine in your home without the harmful UV rays.
