It is not that difficult to decorate a small space in your home in the living room or any other room as it seems. Once you know that you have to make the best of the available space, you can be your own home decorator.

Instead of the standard sofa set, buy a sofa cum bed. This serves as a comfortable sofa in the day and can be easily transformed into a double bed if you have some guests at night. It is a great space-saver and utilizes the living room space to the fullest. Moreover, you don’t feel guilty that your guests are actually sleeping on a sofa!

I personally love to have big rooms in my house, who doesn’t? But we have to accommodate our furniture and clothes and other things in the house, so it might not be possible to leave empty space in a room.

One way to make your room appear larger is to place minimal furniture in the living room or bedroom. Heavy and bulky furniture blocks the space and gives you a feeling of congestion in the design. You can use area rugs and a light colored carpeting to give the effect of space.

Soft and evenly placed lights on the walls will also help to a great extent.

What do you use your lofts for? Obviously, the answer will be as a storage space. We need to think differently for decorating this part of our house.

We all face a space crunch, so you can try converting this loft into a walk-in wardrobe. If it is a little bigger make it into a guest bedroom or a kid’s room. The space is thus put to good use and serves the purpose well. It is especially helpful and you can have separate bedrooms for the kids and let them have their own private space.
